Ayawaso East NPP to hold ‘Unity & Get together party’ on Saturday

As Hon. Zak Rahman, celebrate his election victory with all members

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ayawaso East constituency will be holding a unity and get-together party this coming Saturday, December 23rd.

The event is being organised under the auspices of Zak Rahman, who was recently selected as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso East.

The event, which is to be held at Nima, comes just weeks after his victory in the party’s parliamentary primaries.

All NPP members from the constituency are expected to attend the unity party as they rally behind Rahman in his bid to capture the parliamentary seat from incumbent MP Hon. Toure Nasser Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Rahman said the event is aimed at bringing together the party at the grassroots level as they forge ahead to try and win the seat from the NDC for the first time since 1992.

“This unity party signifies our commitment to stand together as one party to attempt to snatch the Ayawaso East seat from the NDC’s decades-long hold,” Rahman stated.

The Ayawaso East constituency has been an NDC stronghold since the return to multiparty democracy in Ghana.

The NPP hopes to mobilise its base and kickstart preparations to compete hard to flip the constituency into their column.

The party is hoping that Rahman’s selection will give them the boost they need to break the NDC’s winning streak in Ayawaso East.
