Bissa Chiefs in Gt Accra to hold a crucial meeting over death of Muniratu Moro
On Saturday, September 17th, the Bissa fraternity will hold a crucial meeting over the death of Bissa lady Muniratu Moro Bandaogo, who was allegedly murdered last week.
The Dabre Palace at Nima will host the all-important gathering, which comes amid the controversy surrounding the death of the young woman.
A visit to the Palace by the bereaved family and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) tops the agenda for the weekly sittings of the regional Bissa leadership.
The meeting, to be attended by all the members of the Greater Accra Council of Bissa Chiefs will be presided over by the president, Kir Mohamed Ali Dabre III, the report indicates.
“There will be an emergency meeting of chiefs, sub-chiefs, and all those who matter over the weekend,” says a statement issued by the Palace.
“We shall have visitors from the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and paternal and maternal family members of the late Muniratu Moro Bandaogo. Family members of Munira’s husband will also be around for a very important engagement. ”
Muniratu Moro Bandoago, who got married on the 28th of August, was found dead at her matrimonial home at Abeka, Accra, just 9 days after her wedding.
The customs officer entered the marriage as a second wife, hoping to enjoy a long-lasting stay with her husband, but it was short-lived.
She was allegedly butchered beyond recognition while her throat was slit, an incident that shocked the Zongo world.
Her burial has to be delayed for an investigation to be carried out after her family vehemently disapproved of it following the circumstances surrounding her death.
But according to the crime officer, all investigations on the body have been completed as needed samples have been taken, and they are only waiting for the family to come for the remains for burial anytime they wish to do so.
But Saturday Morning’s sitting with the family will look into the report from the Regional Crime Officer (CID) and further discuss with all relevant stakeholders the way forward.
