Ghana Hajj Board releases 2024 Flight schedules

The Ghana Hajj Board has released the flight schedules for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage, maintaining the usual pattern of Tamale flights preceding Accra’s.

According to Executive Secretary Hajj Farouk Hamza, the first flight from Ghana will depart from Tamale on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, en route to Madina, Saudi Arabia.

This will be followed by the second flight on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, and the third flight on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The last flight from Tamale is scheduled to depart on Friday, May 31, 2024.

The Accra flights will commence on Sunday, June 2, 2024, followed by the second flight on Monday, June 3, 2024, and the third flight on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

The fourth flight will leave Accra on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, followed by the fifth and final flight on Thursday, June 6, 2024, all en route to Madina, Saudi Arabia.

Prospective pilgrims are advised to contact the 42 accredited agents or the Ghana Hajj Board at the Hajj Village, Accra, if they have any concerns or questions regarding the flight schedules or the pilgrimage. Hajj Farouk Hamza has appealed to prospective pilgrims and their family members to cooperate with the Board’s officials to ensure successful operations.

The Board has assured adequate security arrangements to ensure the comfort and safety of Ghanaian pilgrims. It has also announced that the package will include:

– Two meals a day
– Total medical care
– Comfortable hotel accommodation
– Transportation in Saudi Arabia

Islamic clerics will be available to provide spiritual guidance to the pilgrims. Additionally, orientation programmes will be held to educate prospective pilgrims about the Hajj, its significance, and how to perform the rituals. These programmes will be particularly valuable for first-time international travellers, as they will have the opportunity to learn from experienced officials and medical professionals about the Hajj and how to stay healthy during the month-long spiritual exercise in Saudi Arabia.

The Board urges pilgrims to take advantage of these resources and to prepare themselves spiritually and physically for the pilgrimage. With the release of the flight schedules, prospective pilgrims can now make the necessary arrangements and preparations for their journey.
