Kumasi Inter-Tribal Football Gala: GFA President hails organizers and vows to support competition
The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt E. S. Okraku, has pledged his support for the upcoming Zongo Inter-Tribal Gala tournament in Kumasi, following a successful meeting with the organizers.
Mr. Okraku, during the meeting held on Monday, lauded the organizers of the tournament and promised to be in attendance for the opening ceremony.
The second edition of the Inter-Tribal Football Gala has been scheduled to start in July 2023, immediately after Eid-ul-Adha.
Twenty different tribes will battle it out for honor and bragging rights in the competition that is purposely being played to promote peace and unity in the community and also provide footballers the chance to showcase their talents.
The first edition Last year, Hausa defeated Wangara 4:3 in a penalty shootout after fighting back from a two-goal deficit to clinch a draw in regulation time.
The tournaments is set to be formally launched in the coming days
